Hey friends,

In the spirit of the book that I will introduce you to, I resurrected this newsletter. It's now called the weekly Sugar Piece Digest - but I still take suggestions for better names.

Anyway, this week I finished the book 'the power of regret' by Daniel H. Pink. It was a fantastic read - special thanks to Dani for the gift - and one of the most interesting books I have read recently. Stay tuned - I will share more in the weeks to come.

So, without further ado, please enjoy some of the key takeaways I have gathered from it.

Dope your thinking and action: 3 Reasons why Regrets makes us better humans.

The feeling of regret is probably the most over-demonized and undervalued emotion.

People go to great lengths to express that they don't have any regrets.

Artists with songs titled "No Regrets" range from jazz musician Ella Fitzgerald musicians to pop star Robbie Williams.

Various celebrities are quoted as saying, "I don't believe in regret," among them Angelina Jolie, Bob Dylan, and John Travolta.

And I bet we all have seen tattoos that bear the words "no regrets".

Whether embedded in songs, embraced by a sage, or emblazoned on the skin, the anti-regret philosophy is omnipresent. Its credo is that regret is an unpleasant stumbling stone on the path to happiness and that it is something to avoid at all costs. But if we choose to see them that way - we might regret it - because, on the flip side, it is the very emotion that makes us human - and it makes us better.
