Issue#13
Hey all,
this week I experienced situations where I felt unconfortable but really enjoyed myselve overcoming that resistance in the end. Therefore, I want to share some thoughts about courage with you:
Fear and courage.
We know we are human when we experience fear. That natural emotion has kept us alive and out of harm’s way for millions of years. It’s that voice in our head that tells us to play it safe, to stick to what we know and spear danger – In other words: to manage life.
However, if we obey that voice all too often, we are getting the nub end of the deal of what’s called life. Because fear can also hold us back from reaching our full potential and experiencing all that life has to offer. The key to overcoming our fears is courage.
Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the willingness to face our fears head-on. It takes a great deal of courage to step outside of our comfort zones and take risks, whether it's starting a new career, pursuing a romantic relationship, or trying something new.
But at the end of the day, we create the best memories by rebelling against that voice and experiencing our true selves when we are in situations that scare us. Then we are living life.
I think fear and courage are the two keywords in life. Examined out of context, speaking in front of other human beings seems like a natural thing, but it is an act of bravery in view of the fact that many people fear being the centre of attention opinion and judgement. Courage as we understand and admire it always needs its counterpart.
Therefore, we need to listen carefully when we feel uncomfortable. That feeling is a natural part of the human experience, and we can use it. Our well-being depends on how much power we give to our fears. If we seek to understand our fears and what they tell us, we can seek to be understood by doing those things scared and with courage.
Therefore, face your fears, dare to be vulnerable and see where life takes you.
Have an awesome week everyone!
All the best,
Florian
